Announcer: The procession from Astana square to the Republic Palace. About three thousand people of different nationalities have revived good traditions of may-day. Our correspondents also took part in the procession.
Correspondent: Good traditions have returned to Almaty. A festive procession in Almaly region reminded of 1st May parade in miniature. The greeting of the Day of unity of nationalities of Kazakhstan was almost no different from celebration of Soviet day of the working people.
Marat Prinbekov, Mayor of Almaly region:
- We would like to send from the old square as it is called «Astana Square» the festive mood, warmth and to transfer them among the streets of our region and with this kind greeting we’d like to join the common holiday which will be held at the adjacent territory of the Republic Palace.
Correspondent: Labor collectives, students and teachers are all wearing colorful national costumes. 1st May speeches, happy smiles on the faces… As if Almaty has returned to the past.
About 3 thousand people symbolized the unity of over 100 nationalities that live in the country. They carried the 1st May mood as a flag proudly and joyfully. They celebrated each other of course in different languages.

Correspondent: Folklore groups are in every single street, the methods of celebrating the first of May has remained the same even despite the change in the name of the holiday. The main thing is the working people should have fun, sing and dance in friendly rows.
