Jania Aubakirova is the Rector for Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatoire.

For contribution in culture and education Jania Aubakirova has been awarded with:

• People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• The Laureate of the State award of the Republic of  Kazakhstan;
• The Holder of Order of Arts and Letters of France;
• The Laureate of “Platinum Tarlan” Independent award;
• Ekaterina the Great Order of II degree.

Jania Aubakirova is the winner of such contests as:

• 1985 - Grand Prix of the International Competition of Chamber ensembles (France)
• 1983 - Grand Prix of the Concours International Marguerite Long et Jacques Thibaud and a special prize of the same Concours, “For the Best Performance of Contemporary French Composers” (France).
