Reinforcement of energy assets is one of the strategic priorities within the scope of the economic interests of the state. In energy assets building-up process, special place is occupied by electrical engineering. In this industry «Kentau Transformer Plant» JSC, which in late 2009 celebrated its fiftieth anniversary, occupies its own niche. The next milestone in its life was the realization of large-scale project to produce new high-tech products. The start-up ceremony of the plant for the production of power transformers with 35-110 kV voltage was attended by the Prime Minister Karim Masimov.

The market of transformers is the most demanded and competitive segment of the electrical products market. Competition in this sector is growing daily. As part of the global modernization of the plant, Europe’s super-modern, high-tech equipment was acquired. The designers and engineers of the company were trained by foreign partners to use this equipment.

Kentau transformer plant has proven itself a reliable supplier of electrical equipment for all sectors of the economy. The company produces oil and dry power transformers with voltage of 10-35 kV and power of up to 25 000 kVA, as well as substations of different types of performance, low-voltage and high voltage units under the «Alageum Electric» brand.

However, thinking about the future, we are engaged in training and upbringing of engineers. Their professional education should become a part of the state’s ideology.  Only this way is it possible to retrieve the social status and prestige of the engineering profession for the sake of industrial future of the country.

Meanwhile, having mastered the manufacture of transformers with voltage of 35 kV and power of up to 25 MVA, 110 kV up to 16 MVA, we intend to go further, to become a manufacturer of power transformers of 110 kV voltage class up to 63 MVA power. It is an ambitious task. And in its implementation we find support from the Head of the State in his address to the people of Kazakhstan "New Decade - New Economic Growth - New Opportunities for Kazakhstan," in which Nursultan Nazarbayev directly addressed to Kazakhstan’s business: "I think that now it is important for our entrepreneurs to correctly evaluate new opportunities, to seriously engage in the development of effective strategies to enter new markets, to build competitive advantage."

By opening new production places, by increasing Kazakhstan’s share in purchase of goods and services, we are strengthening the strategic, economic and energy security of the country. The image as a reliable supplier of electrical equipment to all sectors of economy obliges and gives hope for the dream to make a trading brand of Kazakhstan «Alageum Electric» as weighty and well-known as such brands as «Siemens», «General Electric», «Schneider electric» and others. And this patriotic spirit helps us to overcome the inherent difficulties, go ahead and develop electrical engineering of the republic up to a competitive height.
