Date of birth: February 27, 1951
Place of birth: Tulkybas region, Southern Kazakhstan.
Place of residence: Shymkent, Southern Kazakhstan.

Since April 19, 2001 Kozybakov Mombek Zhamalbekuly has been the director of Shymkent Social-pedagogical University. There are above 4000 students graduated from this University since the beginning of pedagogical activity. Now they are highly qualified specialists, who represent the University at educational organizations and production enterprises of Southern Kazakhstan and other regions.

Kozybakov Mombek Zhamalbekuly is an author of numerous reports at local and international conferences on fundamental problems of pedagogy history.

In addition, Kozybakov Mombek Zhamalbekuly is an author of 2 innovations, 1 monograph, 14 practice books, 10 teaching guidance books, over 70 scientific articles and thesis and is a holder of 6 patents.

Under Mombek Kozybakov’s supervision 4 PhD and 8 Master dissertations have been defended.

In period 1999-2001 he worked as the director of Shymkent department of «Auliye –ata» University.

From 1993 to 2000 he was vice-director at Shymkent Pedagogical Institution, leader of the training-scientific complex of labor upbringing specialties and art creation, the vice-director on training and upbringing of pedagogical specialties at Southern Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov, the docent of production and basis of technical equipment department. He was an executor of professor duty at theory and methods of professional training department.

On April 22, 1998 at dissertation council at Almaty State University named after Abai Mombek Kozybakov presented his doctor dissertation on “Didactical problems of perfecting professional-methodical training of future teachers of labor learning”.

By the decision of national Enlightenment committee of USSR [04.11.1989N1328/g] Mombek Kozybakov was awarded the scientific degree of docent of general technique disciplines.

From 1984 to 1993 he was a senior teacher of disciplines of labor upbringing at Shymkent pedagogical Institution.

In period 1981-84 he worked as senior engineer at scientific research laboratory of Kazakh State University named after S.Kirov. In 1984 he worked as a senior teacher of «General technical discipline» department at Shymkent pedagogical Institution.

In 1983 by the decision of dissertation council at Kazakh State University named after S.M.Kirov, Mombek Kozybakov was awarded the degree of candidate of technical sciences.

In 1977-80 he studied «Theory of mechanisms machines and automated systems» at Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov.

In 1975-77 he worked as a junior scientific collaborator of Machine equipment department at the Chemical-Technological Institution, an engineer of Practical mechanism department at Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov.

He entered Kazakh Chemical-Technological University in 1968 to study «Automation of chemical production and complex mechanization» and in 1973 he got a qualification of «Automation Engineer-technologist».

Mombek Kozybakov began his career in 1973 as an engineer in Shardara, Southern Kazakhstan. Since 1975 he has been involved in scientific research and pedagogical activity.

Awards and designations:

• In 2009 in Moscow (Russia) Kozybakov Mombek Zhamalbekuly was awarded with “The leaders of 21st century” prize.
• In 2008 by the decision of presidium of religious Union named «Mekke –Medina» and the mosque named after D.Konayev Kozybakov Mombek Zhamalbekuly was rewarded with a honorable diploma of prophet Muhammed (S.A.V.).
• In 2007 at Oxford University (England) Kozybakov Mombek Zhamalbekuly was rewarded with the International prize named «Socrat» of the European assemble of business.
• In 2007 in Ankara city Mombek Kozybakov was awarded with a prize “For serving Turk world” which is awarded to writers and art people of Turk nations.

On February 12, 1999 by the decision of Attestation Commission under Ministry of Republic of Kazakhstan Mombek Kozybakov was awarded with the scientific degree of Doctor of pedagogical sciences.

Mombek Kozybakov is married, has 3 children. His spouse’s name is Ayjan Kuvatbekova, sons – Galymjanand Ashim, and his daughter – Gulnar.

His credo is to support and develop innovative ideas on the way to qualitative education of the youth, i.e. the future of sovereign Kazakhstan. By joining labor and knowledge to achieve life’s victories; to lead a healthy life and go in for sport continuously.

He is a sport master in box.

Nowadays Mombek Kozybakov is doing scientific research. He also does business for the sake of sustainable growth of Kazakhstan’s economy. By supporting good beginnings to improve Kazakhstan’s education system he is eager to contribute his efforts in preparation of highly qualified specialists. On this benevolent way he pays special attention to the quality of education.
