Moldagaliyeva Uliya is a fashion designer, artist.  She is a actual academic of Academy of Arts of Republic of Kazakhstan. The style of art performance –ethnic – avant-garde and relief art modeling of female and male clothes.

She is an author of creative collections:

Ethnic-avant-garde style “Turk Gladiators” (2004), Kazakh monumental baroque in combination with eccentric elements of modern clothed “Princess Turandot”, Series of art-relief paintings of Turk motifs, author of  “Gran-Prix” silver statuette of 5 anniversary of  international jewelry exhibition “Aru - 2007” as well as two jewelry gold and silver collections “Umai goddess”  and “Nomad Venus”.

Collection “Turk gladiators” consist of 7 suits: 3 male costumes and 4 female costumes. “Turk Gladiators” is an ethnic-avant-garde image collection exploiting elements of medieval  turk soldierly vestments. The figures of stone statues (balbals) VII-XII centuries and the image of Menacing Maiden – Fighter inspired her to create this collection. The constituents of costumes are metal breastplates, knee guards, shoulder straps, head wears, corsets, bracelets, which are made by embossments, as well as leather scabbard and boot – stockings.

Such materials as fur and organza, metal and brocade, leather were used to create this collection.

Keeping up the creative idea of ancient turk costumes, collection “Turandot” has been introduced in Haute Couture Fashion Week in 2005. 10 costumes of Kazakh baroque style have been represented for Almaty’s “beau monde” appraisal. This collection is characterized by ornamentality of Kazakh costume, naive splendor and magnificence of its decoration, fashion “baroque” monumentality. Author used all gold hues of steppe, all its colors. Excessiveness and redundancy of “Turandot” collection are principal.

Uliya asserts:  “Fashion design, from my prospective, is imparting theatrical features into clothes, life, and style. Theatre, carnival relevant decorations of clothes are clue features of my work.  I like the combination of incompatible styles and fabrics. For example, magnificent baroque or democratic jeans with Kazakh traditions, metal with delicate chiffon, fur and organza, lace on sheepskin coat or fur coat. And no way for pure style!”

As an artist, Uliya works actively in painting. She created the collection of pictorial relief works of art based on turk motifs. It’s her unique ability to imprint in canvas actually created models of clothes. She uses the method of deep relief painting to show the texture and luxury of fabrics and accessories. It represents the school of relief painting of Amandos Akanayev, the honored worker of art.

Pictorial works of art exhibited in Museum of Contemporary Arts (Astana 2004), French Cultural Centre (Almaty 2004), Art Centre “Shakhar” (Almaty 2004), Presidential Cultural Centre (Astana 2005), Gallery “Khassanat” (Astana), State Museum named after A Kasteyev (Almaty 2006, 2009), exhibition of Academy of Arts in Palace of Peace and Concord (Pyramide, Atana 2007). Relief painting “Shezhire” is in Museum’s fund of First President of RK fund, Nazarbayev N.A.

Personal exhibition of Uliya Moladagaliyeva held in Astana in April - May, 2009. The works of relief painting art and two collections of clothes, jewelry and plastic art were presented.

She graduated from Kazakh National Academy named after Zhurgenov, Department of decorative-applied arts and design. (2004)
