In 2009 Marat Kanat is the second grade student of Intellectual School of First President in Astana as a member of school team took part in II Republican mathematical contest “Bastau” held in Almaty. There were 55 participating teams from across Kazakhstan. Kanat won the second place that time.

In 2010 Kanat, being the third grade student, won the Grand – Prix among 63 teams as a member of his school team. He always wanted to be the best at school. In 2009 he took the second place in mathematical contest. After he said that he wanted to get the Grand-Prix. He worked hard on it and next year won the Grand – Prix.  Despite of his age, he is serious and responsible person. His hobby is constructing “Lego” and brain-twisters solving.
