Almaty. January 22. Today at Kazakh Academy of transport and communications named after Tynyshbayev the mayor of Almaly region of Almaty city Marat Prinbekov held a reporting meeting with people on results of 2009. The reporting meeting was attended by the mayor of the city Ahmetjan Esimov.

Marat Prinbekov presented city dwellers the picture for development of the oldest region of Almaty city, in which most of scientific, cultural, educational and medical organizations as well as financial organizations and industrial companies are concentrated.

Particularly, the mayor told the people about high level of fiscal revenues to the budget which is the main indicator of economic welfare of the region, on development in utility area and wellbeing, on the works being carried out with condominiums and other changes in the lives of the residents of the city and the region.

A number of acting industrial companies has gone up and 2887 working places have been created in the region. To prevent the growth of unemployment caused by decrease in production, a total of 20 memoranda on mutual cooperation have been signed between employees of Almaly region, administration of mayor of Almaly region, Ministry of labor and social protection of population of Kazakhstan and professional union organization on provision of labor rights and guarantees of employees.

In the framework of program named «Road map» in Almaly region a total of 4670 meters of engineering networks and 29 streets have been repaired. Moreover, reconstruction of parks in Gagarin street, nearby «Tselinniy» cinema, in Jambyl Street have been done; reconstruction of 5 fountains have been completed: near Marriage palace, «Almaty» hotel, M.Lermontov theatre, «Nedelka», Abay opera and ballet theatre. Capital repair of 5 medical establishments have been completed; those are city polyclinic No.8, city rheumatologic centre, children’s polyclinic No.3, children’s dental polyclinic, cure and diagnostics centre. Capital repair of secondary school No.39 has been completed, heating system pf secondary school no.96, redecoration of dormitories of Kazakh Academy of transport and communications and professional school No.5. In the framework of Program named «100 schools, 100 hospitals» the construction of hospital of urgent medical service for 350 patients is to be completed in 2010.

Social assistance was granted to 221 families in total of 21267770 tenge.  State benefit was paid to 295 families equaling to 5155307 tenge. One time financial aid amounting to 5271000 tenge was paid to 1111 low-income people. Accommodation assistance was done to 1091 low-income residents amounting to 33701712 tenge.

For effective realization of measures on support of SME as well as on increase of Kazakhstan’s share in purchases of national companies and realization of innovation projects, several agreements between industrial companies of Almaly region and national companies of «Samruk-Kazyna» welfare fund were signed in 2009 for total of KZT2.6 bln, of which KZT883.64mln has been used.

The mayor of Almaty city, in general positively assessed the work on development of the region having pointed that Almaly region is not only the central but also a unique area in terms of its infrastructure, availability of the most important, advanced and historic organizations of cultural, educational, financial and scientific centre of the republic.

«In Almaty there are 35 banks out of 37 in the republic, of which 19 banks are located in Almaly region, in which there are still a lot of reserves. Here is powerful production, industrial, utility companies concentrated which provide the largest part of tax revenues to the budget. Ant the task for regional administration is to analyze the situation in this direction and work on each individual company. Due to support from the Head of the country the city executed all the tasks and provided return to the budget of 28 %. In this there is also your efforts as city residents and taxpayers, and we should be proud of it », - Ahmetjan Esimov stated.

The mayor of Almaty told the residents of Almaly region in short about the achievements of the city as per results of the past year and the tasks for 2010. In particular, he talked on completion of construction of the first stage of the first underground line which was planned for December of the current year; as well as on forthcoming tasks on organization of works on maintenance of the underground.

Moreover, Ahmetjan Esimov pointed that in 2010 it is planned to complete the construction of Eastern bypass auto motorway due to which the traffic load will go down by 30% and the completion of sport objects for Asiada which will be started in Astana and Almaty on January 31, 2011.

Along with other important projects of the city the mayor of the city talked about the development of municipal household, creation of industrial base in new Alatau region, works on improvement of environmental situation, planting, wellbeing, organization of traffic movement in Almaty, etc.

Talking about what is achieved, Ahmetjan Esimov thanked the residents of Almaly region in particular, who actively make contribution into development of the city.

Besides this, the mayor of the city appealed to the representatives of law-enforcement authorities and prosecution department, paying attention to the high importance of fight against crime.

Moreover, the head of the city urged the residents of the region to take care of the city, keep it clean and take active part in city’s programs on reduction of pollution.
